It began long ago in a land far away to the east, the like of which you will not find in the world today.

Did you ever Notice

Elrond: No, Glorfindel, you can't be a part of the fellowship. Surely an elf of such great power would alert Sauron to the group's location.
Elrond: Legolas, you can go.
Legolas: GEE.

From the Sindarin for spider’s cleft, Cirith Ungol is a pass near Minas Morgul where Shelob’s lair is located. During the Quest of the Ring, Frodo, Sam, and Gollum use this path to enter Mordor.

HEY GUYS! This isn’t a new song, but it’s a rerecorded version of the very first Tolkien song I put to music: I Sit Beside the FIre and Think from The Fellowship of the Ring, which is still one of my favorite poems.

Also exciting news! I finally have got a bandcamp page, and I’ve uploaded this song to it as well as the version of ‘Farewell We Call’ from January, so you can download them for free! Link is here! http://adelemcallister.bandcamp.com/

I’m going to try to clean up the rest of the music similarly, but so far two tracks and TOTALLY FREE!

But please, please listen and reblog if you enjoyed it, check out the bandcamp page and dowload the music! Thank you so much for listening and your support!

I Sit Beside the Fire and Think - J. R. R. Tolkien

“I sit beside the fire and think
Of all that I have seen
Of meadow flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair

I sit beside the fire and think
Of how the world will be
When winter comes without a spring
That I shall ever see

For still there are so many things
That I have never seen
In every wood in every spring
There is a different green

I sit beside the fire and think
Of people long ago
And people that will see a world
That I shall never know

But all the while I sit and think
Of times there were before
I listen for returning feet
And voices at the door”
